General Description of Peppermint Essential Oil:
Peppermint is a perrenial herb which grows up to 1 metre in height with underground runners by which it is easily propogated. "White" peppermint has green stems and leaves, while the "black" peppermint has serrated, dark green leaves, reddish-violet flowers and purplish. This plant is cultivated worldwide, although naturalised throughout Europe and America.

Peppermint has a refreshing, stimulating and restorative effect and is one of the best esential oils for soothing digestive problems. A few drops of peppermint oil in a full bathtub, used as a massage oil, or inhaled can help prevent flus or colds. Used in a facial steam, it can deeply cleanse and decongest skin, and help clear acne. When sniffed from a tissue, a few drops can help settle the symptoms of shock and alleviate feelings of insecurity or inferiority.
